conf-room

Deadline is 3 September 2025 / Election to be held in October

Today, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is launching the Preliminary Phase of the election for the National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADO) Expert Advisory Group (NADO EAG) as per the Agency’s communication on 3 June 2025.

WADA has asked all NADOs to submit nominations for candidates for three-year terms beginning on 1 January 2026. The deadline to submit candidatures is 3 September 2025.

NADO EAG

WADA’s NADO EAG is comprised of ten members elected by NADOs via regional elections. Each of the five Olympic/Paralympic regions (Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania) elect two NADO representatives who all serve two-year terms. The ten members are responsible for reviewing anti-doping matters that impact NADOs, providing relevant guidance and recommendations to WADA to enhance its collaboration with, and development of, NADOs globally. The NADO EAG also represents the views of NADOs and brings them forward to WADA’s Foundation Board (Board) by electing their Chair and Vice-Chair, who in turn sit on the Board.

This election applies to all ten NADO EAG seats.

Regional elections for members of NADO Expert Advisory Group

On 27 March 2025, WADA’s Executive Committee adopted a revised Election Procedure that will govern the election process.

The Election Procedure was drafted in consultation with WADA’s current NADO EAG and includes:

  • criteria for a NADO to be eligible to nominate candidates and vote;
  • criteria for the candidate to be eligible for election;
  • role of the election scrutineer;
  • procedural steps for submission of candidatures;
  • election process; and
  • provisions related to potential infringement of the procedure and protection of personal information.

Election Scrutineer

In accordance with the Election Procedure, WADA’s Independent Ethics Board has nominated independent member Phil Hutchinson as the Election Scrutineer. In this capacity, Mr. Hutchinson will ensure compliance with the Election Procedure, which will include reviewing the eligibility of NADOs and candidates and adjudicating any complaint in this regard.
