WADA President supports Bonds guilty verdict

WADA President John Fahey has given his support to the recent verdict against Barry Bonds, in which the former baseball star was found guilty of obstruction of justice.

“The verdict is supported by the evidence which was clear that Mr. Bonds failed to give truthful information,” said Mr. Fahey.

“Had Mr. Bonds fully co-operated from the outset, rather than taking steps to pervert the course of justice, then the matter may well have been concluded swiftly and without further investigation.

“Mr. Bonds would also have been able to make a start to his process of rehabilitation.”
