Dedicated Athlete Session on 13 June

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to announce that online registration is now open for the Agency’s 2022 Annual Symposium. This edition of the Symposium will be held in a hybrid fashion (in-person/virtual) on 11-12 June 2022 at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. A dedicated Athlete Session will also be held on 13 June.

Under the theme “Raising the Game”, the Annual Symposium will once again gather anti-doping practitioners from International Federations, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations and Major Event Organizations, athletes and athlete representatives, Governments, WADA-accredited laboratories and Athlete Passport Management Units, as well as other stakeholders such as service providers, researchers and the media – all that are integral to clean sport.

This year’s edition will, in particular, explore how we can further advance anti-doping together for the benefit of athletes worldwide. This will include a mix of plenary and breakout sessions, as well as discussions on some of the developing innovations in anti-doping.

Dedicated Athlete Session

As it relates to the dedicated Athlete Session on 13 June, under the leadership of WADA’s Athlete Committee, the Agency will welcome participation of athletes and athlete representatives. Anti-Doping Organizations are kindly asked to encourage participation of their athlete representatives -- with one representative per organization being invited to participate free of charge. More information on the program will be provided shortly.

Registration

Should you wish to register for the Symposium and/or the Athlete Session (the Athlete Session being exclusively for athletes and athlete representatives), we invite you to do so on the Symposium website by 27 May 2022. The website contains all relevant information regarding the event, including the preliminary agenda, how to register and how to book your hotel accommodation.

WADA is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its stakeholder community and the Agency’s staff who will attend the Symposium in person.  We will therefore continue to monitor the evolution of the pandemic and base our safety protocols on directives from public health authorities related to COVID-19.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the Symposium after more than three years of absence since the last event due to the pandemic.

Should you have any questions, please contact the secretariat of the Annual Symposium at annualsymposium@wada-ama.org.
