WADA provides update on the compliance status of the Comité National Lutte Antidopage de Côte d'Ivoire
Further to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA's) communication on 12 January 2026, WADA wishes to provide an update on the compliance of the Comité National Lutte Antidopage de Côte d'Ivoire (Côte d'Ivoire NADO).
The Côte d'Ivoire NADO was added to the compliance ‘watchlist’ during WADA's Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting of 11 September 2025, in relation to its failure to address non-conformities identified through the Code Compliance Questionnaire (CCQ) exercise.
At the end of the ‘watchlist’ period, the non-conformities were still not resolved. Therefore, as per Article 9.2.3 of the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS), on 12 January 2026, WADA sent the Côte d'Ivoire NADO a formal notice of non-compliance.
The NADO had 21 days following the date of receipt of the formal notice to dispute WADA’s allegation of non-compliance and/or the consequences and/or the conditions of reinstatement proposed by the Agency or accept the allegation of non-compliance, in line with Article 9.3.1 of the ISCCS.
Since receiving the formal allegation, the Côte d'Ivoire NADO provided relevant information and documentation to WADA. The Compliance Review Committee (CRC) reviewed these updates, concluded that the critical corrective actions had now been corrected in full, and subsequently recommended to the ExCo, considering Article 9.3.1.1 of the ISCCS, to withdraw the formal notice.
A circulatory vote was sent to the ExCo on 30 January 2026 and the outcome of the vote will be communicated to stakeholders in the coming weeks. In the event that the ExCo follows the CRC’s recommendation, the consequences will not come into effect and the compliance procedure for the Côte d'Ivoire NADO will be closed. As such, the consequences will not apply until the ExCo makes a formal decision.
