WADA Executive Committee to meet virtually on 14-15 September

The Executive Committee (ExCo) of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will meet virtually on 14-15 September to receive updates on WADA’s progress on key priorities and to take a number of decisions.

Among the items on the agenda for the 12-person ExCo is approval of the updated List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, the International Standard for Laboratories and the International Standard for the Protection of Privacy and Personal Information that come into force on 1 January 2021; an update on COVID-19’s impact on the global anti-doping system; an update regarding WADA’s ongoing governance reforms currently being implemented; consideration of the Agency’s draft budget for 2021 that will be put before the Foundation Board (Board) in November; approval of scientific research projects for 2020; and consideration of other matters of importance.

WADA is composed of a 38-member Board, which is the Agency’s highest policy-making body, and the ExCo, to which the Board delegates the management and running of the Agency, including the performance of certain activities and the administration of assets. The Board and ExCo are composed equally of representatives from the Sports Movement, including athletes, and Governments. A release concerning next week’s meeting will be published once it has concluded.
