WADA Executive Committee and Foundation Board to discuss Code Implementation

Montreal, 22 April 2015 – The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Executive Committee and Foundation Board will meet respectively on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 May, 2015 in Montreal.

The Foundation Board on 13 May is open to members of the media, and at the conclusion of the meeting there will be a Press Conference providing the opportunity to discuss anti-doping issues with WADA President, Sir Craig Reedie and WADA Director General, David Howman.

Media Highlights

Members representing governments of all regions of the world and the Olympic Movement will be presented with an update on the progress by signatories of implementation of the revised World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, and a progress report from the recently-formed independent Compliance Review Committee.

The Board will also hear an update on the development of National Anti-Doping Organizations in Brazil and Kenya, anti-doping research and the Major Leagues in the United States. An analysis of the Cycling Independent Reform Commission (CIRC) Report and its effect on WADA’s activities will also be presented to the Board, along with a series of recommendations.

As per WADA’s statutes, the meeting is open to the media. Seats will be reserved inside the room for journalists that wish to attend. 

No audio or video taping of the meeting is permitted. Photographers and cameramen will be allowed in the meeting room for a five-minute camera spray prior to the start of the meeting. 

Press Room

A media work room will be available on the 9th floor of the Westin Hotel throughout the day on 13 May. 

Accreditation 

Media that wish to attend the meeting or post-meeting Press Conference, or would like to request an individual interview with the President or Director General following the Press Conference, must be accredited and should contact Ben Nichols, WADA’s Senior Manager Media Relations and Communications, by 9 May.
