WADA adds nine additional languages to Athlete Central, greatly facilitating athlete compliance with Whereabouts requirements
Today, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) extended the reach of its Athlete Central Whereabouts App by adding the following nine languages; which, in addition to English and French, brings the total languages to eleven.

Launched in November 2019, Athlete Central is WADA’s App that facilitates athlete compliance with Whereabouts rules under the global anti-doping program. Athlete Central replaced WADA’s previous App that had been operational for a few years and required modernizing.
By adding new languages, WADA is responding to athlete demand from around the world. The Agency is grateful to its stakeholders that translated Athlete Central in these additional languages to support the athletes of their respective countries.
WADA Director General Olivier Niggli said: “WADA is pleased to say that, since the launch of Athlete Central, the response from athletes and other stakeholders worldwide has been very positive. We are being told that the App has significantly improved and facilitated the athlete experience in complying with their Whereabouts requirements. Based on athlete feedback, we developed and delivered an App that is intuitive, simple, smart and reliable. We look forward to delivering even more languages and further upgrades to the Agency’s Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS), which can better serve athletes and stakeholders in the future.”
Athlete Central is powered by WADA’s ‘Next Gen’ ADAMS project. ‘Next Gen’ is one of WADA’s strategic priorities that involves a complete rebuild of ADAMS to ensure that it is optimized technically and securely to support athletes and the global anti-doping program. ‘Next Gen’ prioritizes mobility of ADAMS use, enhanced connectivity, reliability, performance and general usability. Athlete Central was the first module that was launched in November 2019, followed by the Testing Center in January 2020. In keeping with ‘Next Gen’s’ project plan, the Agency will be launching more modules, upgrades and enhancements during the course of 2020.
