Call for Standing Committee Chair Candidates (2026-2028)

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is seeking nominations for 2026 for the Chairs of its three Standing Committees, which report to WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) and Foundation Board (Board). The Standing Committees act as advisory committees, providing expert advice to WADA, and support WADA’s mission by serving as a forum for detailed and expert deliberation on specific families of issues and developing recommendations for decisions made by the ExCo or Board, as appropriate.
The current Standing Committee Chair terms end on 31 December 2025. This public call applies to the following three committees:
As stated in WADA’s Governance Regulations (Part VI), the candidates shall be assessed, reviewed and vetted by WADA’s Nominations Committee in accordance with its processes. Only candidates who satisfy the vetting criteria as determined by the Nominations Committee may be recommended as Chair of a Standing Committee. The Nominations Committee will present their recommendations to the ExCo for decision at their meeting on 11 September 2025. Successful candidates will take office on 1 January 2026 and their terms will be for three years, concluding on 31 December 2028.

How to Apply
Applications are to be forwarded to Diane Smith-Gander AO, Chair of the Nominations Committee (c/o governance@wada-ama.org) by Friday, 16 May 2025.
To be considered, applications must include the following:
1. A maximum one-page motivation/cover letter, expressing the candidate’s reasons for their interest in the position ;
2. An updated curriculum vitae(1), which fully captures the candidate’s experience, expertise and qualifications(2);
3. A letter(s) of endorsement from at least one member of WADA’s Board (preferably), or from a Signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code; and
4. A completed Declaration of Independence Form, confirming that WADA’s Operational and Personal Independence criteria(3) are met.
Applicants that are retained will be requested to provide up to three references who may be contacted by the Nominations Committee. Retained applicants will also be asked to consent to the use of third-party services to conduct background checks and education verifications.

(1) For purposes of review, evaluation and approval, candidates consent to the sharing of their curriculum vitae and candidate file (and personal information contained therein) with the WADA Nominations Committee, Director General, Executive Committee and Foundation Board, in accordance with WADA’s Privacy Policy and Governance Regulations. Candidates are asked to review the Privacy Policy for details about how their personal information will be processed by WADA. By submitting their application, candidates confirm that they have read and understood the policy and accept its terms.
(2) If the candidate refers to qualifications/certifications in their application, the year of obtention of any such qualifications/certifications must be included. The candidate must also be able to provide valid evidence of such qualifications/certifications should it be requested by the Nominations Committee.
