IOC President Thomas Bach visits WADA during Canadian tour
The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach visited the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) headquarters in Montreal today during his Canadian tour that coincides with the 2015 Pan-American Games.
President Bach was in Montreal for Canada Olympic Excellence Day, organised by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) to mark the opening of the Canadian Olympic House.
President Bach spoke of the clear shift in anti-doping philosophy in recent years from the fight against doping to the importance of protecting the clean athletes of the world, and the significant role that WADA has played since it was formed in 1999.
Also in attendance for the visit were WADA President, Sir Craig Reedie; the Mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre; the Canadian Olympic Committee President, Marcel Aubut; former WADA President, Richard Pound; and WADA Director General, David Howman.
