WADA publishes final versions of 2027 World Anti-Doping Code in English and French
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to publish the final English and French versions of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code (Code), which will come into force on 1 January 2027. These final versions include limited changes from the approved version of the Code that WADA published on 19 December 2025 and which was approved by the Agency’s Foundation Board on 5 December 2025, during the Agency’s World Conference on Doping in Sport that was held in Busan, Republic of Korea.
Below, we link the following documents:
1. The final 2027 versions of the Code in English and French.
2. A summary document (in English only) outlining the limited changes that were made from the 19 December 2025 version of the Code to the final versions being published today. It is important to note that none of these limited changes affect in any way the sense, meaning or interpretation of the version approved in Busan(1). Rather, they were required to:
- adapt and align clauses to changes approved in other clauses;
- address inconsistencies;
- correct references to other Code or International Standards articles; and
- make grammatical and formatting modifications.
3. A redline version outlining all the changes from the 2021 Code to the final 2027 version being published today in English and French.
Preparing for implementation – CISP and Regional Symposiums
In order to help Signatories prepare for implementation of the 2027 Code and Standards, WADA will soon be delivering the 2027 Code Implementation Support Program (CISP), the aim of which is to provide simplified guidance to Signatories on the changes and requirements in the 2027 Code and Standards. WADA aims to formally launch its revised CISP program in March with a set of specific resources focused on what has changed and what Signatories need to do. Thereafter, additional types of CISP resources will be made available on WADA’s Anti-Doping Education and Learning (ADEL) platform, including factsheets, checklists, presentations, pre-recorded webinars, and video tutorials.
Additionally, WADA will be hosting four Regional Symposiums in 2026 in order to address the unique needs and challenges of stakeholders in the different regions in the lead up to the implementation of the 2027 Code and Standards. The Regional Symposiums will be structured around CISP, with a strong emphasis on compliance readiness. The cities and dates of these events (in calendar order) are as follows:
1. Europe: Baku, Azerbaijan on 18-19 March (Opening Ceremony: 17 March)
2. Africa: Cairo, Egypt on 28-29 April (Opening Ceremony: 27 April)
3. Asia and Oceania: Beijing, China on 2-3 June (Intergovernmental Meeting and Opening Ceremony on 1 June)
- Registration to open in early March
4. Americas: Lima, Peru on 1-2 July
- Registration to open in early April
In the meantime, WADA has published a 2027 Code and Standards Implementation Guide, which notably touches upon CISP and summarizes other matters of importance related to the Update Process; in particular:
- the significant changes between the current 2021 Code and the proposed 2027 Code; and
- the significant changes between the current Standards and the proposed 2027 Standards.
