WADA promotes the Spontaneous Applicant Pool for Expert Advisory Groups

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) wishes to remind the global anti-doping community that experts interested in joining the Agency’s Expert Advisory Groups (EAGs) may submit applications to the Spontaneous Applicant Pool.
WADA’s EAGs provide ongoing technical advice and special expertise to its Standing Committees and Management Team. The Spontaneous Applicant Pool applies to the following EAGs*:
- Ethics
- Gene and Cell Doping
- Laboratory
- Legal
- Prohibited List
- Social Science Research
- Strategic Testing
- Therapeutic Use Exemption
*The members the National Anti-Doping Organizations EAG and the Signatory Expert Group are appointed following different processes.
The Spontaneous Applicant Pool may also be referenced for the formation of Working Groups (WGs), which WADA creates on an as-needed basis.
Please note that applications to the Spontaneous Applicant Pool are not for specific vacancies on the EAGs (or WGs); rather, they are for consideration for future opportunities. Applications held on file are reviewed annually and considered in line with any upcoming vacancies for the next year.
Please note that applicants will only be contacted in the event that they are being considered for an EAG (or WG) for which their expertise is sought.
Application Process
To be considered, applicants are requested to submit the following:
- A completed Spontaneous Application Form;
- A written Expression of Interest (cover/motivation letter) clearly referencing the EAG (or WG) for which their expertise is relevant; and
- An updated Curriculum Vitae(1), fully outlining the applicant’s experience and expertise(2), which also includes two reference contacts.
All of the above required documents should be sent to ExpertGroup_Application@wada-ama.org. Please note that incomplete applications will not be retained.
Applicants may submit their candidacies at any time throughout the year. Please note that the membership of EAGs and WGs is reviewed at the end of each year. As such, WADA encourages applicants to submit their candidacies no later than Friday 18 October 2025 to be considered in the upcoming cycle.
