WADA launches 2027 Code Implementation Support Program

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to announce that the first phase of its 2027 Code Implementation Support Program (CISP) is now live on its Anti-Doping Education and Learning platform (ADEL).

CISP is designed to help World Anti-Doping Code (Code) Signatories prepare for implementation of the 2027 Code and International Standards (Standards), which come into effect on 1 January 2027. CISP also provides tools and resources to support the development of anti-doping programs more generally, serving as an educational knowledge hub to help Signatories in their daily work.

CISP resources available on ADEL

As of today, the following types of resources regarding the 2027 Code and Standards are available via ADEL:

  • Factsheets  – summarizing the main changes in simple terms;
  • Checklists – key action items for effective implementation;
  • Presentations – overview of changes with guidance for implementation; and
  • A pre-recorded webinar and FAQ on the Implementation of the 2027 Code in Signatories' Legal Systems: Keys to Success (as announced in February).

Resources are currently available in English and will soon be available in French and Spanish.

As shared during WADA’s World Conference on Doping in Sport in December 2025, the CISP section of ADEL has been redesigned with easier navigation, embedded language versions, and access to a new AI feature that can help users find information more efficiently. Signatories will continue to have access to the 2021 CISP resources until they are archived later this year.

The video below provides insight into the new design, what is available, and how to access the CISP resources when visiting ADEL.

WADA’s Director of Education, Amanda Hudson, said: “WADA is delighted to share with the community that the first set of 2027 Code Implementation Support Program resources are now live. Led by WADA’s Education Department and in collaboration with WADA’s technical departments, all CISP resources are developed by an internal multi-disciplinary team. CISP was initially launched in 2020 to support the 2021 Code and Standards, and we are pleased to build on that to deliver the 2027 iteration. Our aim for CISP remains the same, which is to help Signatories implement the Code and Standards through a series of resources and tools that are easy to understand and presented in an accessible format, helping to reinforce a culture of self-help and community support. Since its launch, CISP has seen over 70,000 interactions, with positive feedback received from Signatories. We hope the community finds added value in the updated navigation, redesign, and use of AI to enhance their experience with CISP resources.”

The CISP team will now turn its attention to phase two, which will prioritize updating the respective Guideline documents associated with the International Standards. Finally, once the Guidelines have been updated, the team will conduct a full review of all existing CISP resources to ensure they are aligned with the 2027 Code and Standards before being uploaded to ADEL.

Help accessing CISP on ADEL

WADA has developed a resource to support new and existing users navigating CISP: ADEL - How to access CISP resources and navigate through it.

Regional Symposiums

Please note that more will be communicated shortly as it relates to WADA’s 2026 Regional Symposiums that are being structured around CISP. As previously communicated, the Symposium for Europe that was to be held on 18-19 March in Baku, Azerbaijan and the Symposium for Africa that was to be held on 28-29 April in Cairo, Egypt have both been postponed due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. WADA is presently looking into alternative options for delivering these Symposium programs, while the Symposium for Asia and Oceania to be held on 2-3 June in Beijing, China and the Symposium for the Americas to be held on 13-14 August in Lima are maintained as planned.
