WADA announces outcomes of second Compliance Review Committee meeting of 2025

The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) independent Compliance Review Committee (CRC) met in person for its second meeting of the year in London, United Kingdom, on 10 and 11 June 2025. The CRC also held an in-camera session on 9 June to prepare, review and discuss documentation received.
The members discussed a range of important issues related to the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) Compliance Monitoring Program, including:
- An update on:
- Signatories currently on the “watchlist”, namely the Iran and Sri Lanka National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs);
- Current non-compliant Signatories, namely the Cameroon NADO, Russian NADO, the International Federation of Basque Pelota (FIPV) and the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB);
- Signatories whose cases have been referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS);
- Other cases referred to the CRC for whom if corrective actions have not been completed will be discussed at the CRC’s August meeting and presented to the September Executive Committee meeting for decision.
- Ideas to evaluate the Compliance Monitoring Program ahead of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards entering into effect;
- Input on the 2025 compliance annual plan;
- An update on the new program area monitoring tool introduced by WADA in 2025 to monitor certain Signatories; and
- Review of stakeholder consultation feedback on the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS) with the ISCCS drafting team.
The CRC is responsible for providing independent advice, guidance and recommendations to WADA Management and governing bodies on matters relating to Signatories' compliance with the Code.
The CRC Chair, Henry Gourdji, led the discussions and will report to the next Executive Committee meeting on 11 September.
