WADA announces outcomes of fourth Compliance Review Committee meeting of 2025
The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) independent Compliance Review Committee (CRC) met in-person for its fourth meeting of the year in Montreal, Canada on 28-29 October 2025. The CRC also held an in-camera session on 27 October to prepare, review and discuss documentation received.
The members discussed a range of important issues related to the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) Compliance Monitoring Program, namely:
- The assessment of three cases of non-compliance, with recommendations to be made to the WADA Executive Committee at its next meeting during the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Busan, Korea;
- An update on:
- Current non-compliant Signatories;
- Signatories currently on the compliance “watchlist”;
- Signatories whose cases have been referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS); and
- Other Signatory cases in a compliance procedure.
- Ideas to evaluate the Compliance Monitoring Program methodology, including revisions to the Prioritization Policy and Signatory Tiers system;
- Received presentations from WADA’s Legal Affairs and Education departments on their compliance activities;
- Received an update on the new program area monitoring tool introduced by WADA in 2025 to monitor certain Signatories; and
- Reviewed the final draft of the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS), which will be presented and adopted at the World Conference on Doping in Sport.
This meeting also marked the final meeting for independent member Ms. Vered Deshe, who completed her three-year term mandate. WADA and the CRC thanks Ms. Deshe for her invaluable contributions to the committee and wishes her well with her future endeavours.
The CRC is responsible for providing independent advice, guidance and recommendations to WADA Management and governing bodies on matters relating to Signatories' compliance with the Code.
The CRC Chair, Henry Gourdji, led the discussions and will report to the next Executive Committee meeting on 2 December 2025 and Foundation Board on 5 December 2025.
