WADA announces new dates for Americas Regional Symposium – Now 4-5 August 2026

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) wishes to inform stakeholders that its 2026 Regional Symposium for the Americas, which was to be held from 1-2 July, will now take place on 4-5 August 2026 in Lima, Peru. Further details will be shared in the coming months, including the venue, program, registration information, etc. For now, stakeholders are kindly asked to save the new dates in their calendars.

Regional Symposium Objectives – Informing, building confidence, and connecting 

WADA’s 2026 Regional Symposiums will aim to address the unique needs and challenges of stakeholders in the different regions in the lead up to implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code (Code) and International Standards (Standards). The events will be structured around WADA’s 2027 Code Implementation Support Program (CISP) with a strong emphasis on compliance readiness. The primary objectives will be: 

  • to inform stakeholders of the changes and requirements in the 2027 Code and Standards; 
  • to build stakeholders' confidence in implementing the required changes to their anti-doping programs; 
  • to facilitate connection and collaboration between stakeholders on sport integrity issues; and
  • to discuss the roles of athletes and governments in promoting clean sport.

Participants can expect presentations on the Code and Standards that will focus on the technical aspects of preparing for implementation, as well as panel discussions, practical workshops, and networking sessions.

In addition, the Americas Symposium program will feature sessions delivered in partnership with the International Olympic Committee, Interpol, and UNESCO.

Target Audience 

The Americas Regional Symposium is geared towards practitioners from National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, National Olympic Committees, Continental Confederations and Major Event Organizers; as well as WADA-accredited laboratories, service providers and other key stakeholders; and will also welcome athletes and governments.    

Kindly note that stakeholders are welcome to attend any of the four Regional Symposiums and are also welcome to attend more than one Regional Symposium if the number of registrations allows.

1. Europe: Baku, Azerbaijan on 18-19 March (opening ceremony the evening of 17 March)

2. Africa: Cairo, Egypt on 28-29 April (opening ceremony the evening of 27 April) 

3. Asia and Oceania: Beijing, China on 2-3 June (intergovernmental meeting and opening ceremony on 1 June 2026) 

  • Registration to open in March
