Highlighted Sessions
Beyond sessions centered around the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code (Code) and International Standards (IS), participants can expect dynamic and innovative sessions, some of which are highlighted below.
Session 4: For athletes, by athletes – Building the future of the global anti-doping system together
This session, led by the WADA Athlete Council, will highlight how athletes are actively shaping the future of the global anti‑doping system through governance, consultation, and lived experience. Drawing on the success of the athlete‑centered consultation related to the 2027 World Anti‑Doping Program, it will explore key changes that strengthen human rights, wellbeing, fairness, and trust for athletes. The session will conclude with a panel discussion on strengthening meaningful athlete representation across anti‑doping governance structures.
Session 6a: Developing a national anti-doping program is a joint effort
This session will foster a shared understanding of how collaborative action can strengthen national anti-doping programs, with emphasis on NADO Operational Independence, sustainable government funding, and compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards.
Session 6c: International Standard for Laboratories: What Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) need to know about the new Standard and collaborating with labs
The session will present the main changes of the 2027 International Standard for Laboratories, how ADOs can prepare for such changes, and best practices for collaboration between WADA Accredited Labs, Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) Approved Labs, and ADOs, especially ADO practitioners responsible for Testing and Results Management.
Networking app
WADA is pleased to provide participants with a dedicated networking and event management tool: the Cvent Attendee Hub App. The app allows attendees to access key event information via their smartphone or tablet at any time before and during the Symposium, including but not limited to:
- A full and personalized agenda, with session and workshop timings, locations, and descriptions;
- The list of participants attending the Symposium, including participant profiles and photos; and
- The ability to contact participants directly to organize meetings in advance of the Symposium.
Participants are encouraged to plan their meetings in advance with others registered and visible in the app. The app will become available in the coming days, at which point all registered participants will receive a notification with instructions on how to access it.
Note: Interested participants from other regions may attend the Asia/Oceania Regional Symposium (not the AORIM) if capacity allows. Those interested should register on the website and their potential participation will be confirmed after 1 May.
Should you have any questions regarding the Asia/Oceania Regional Symposium, please contact WADA's Event Management team at: asiaoceaniasymposium2026@wada-ama.org.
We look forward to welcoming many of you in Beijing in early June.
