ADAMS Testing Working Group discusses ADAMS Development Roadmap and future 2027 IST changes

The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS) Testing Working Group (ATWG) met virtually on 13 and 14 May 2025 and focused its discussions on the following topics:
a) An update on the progress of the 2025 ADAMS Development Roadmap, including the development of the Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) and Results Management modules, and the design of the new Athlete Center (which will replace Athlete Central). Once fully developed, Athlete Center will be a centralized platform through which athletes can manage their whereabouts information, access educational resources, view their TUE status, and stay informed on other anti-doping matters.
b) An update on WADA’s Application Programming Interface (API), which enables Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) to connect their own entry systems to ADAMS to speed up the process of entering Doping Control Forms, and its pricing structure. Contracts are being finalized for production launch, and fees will cover support, infrastructure, and development costs.
c) The plan for 2025 to continue developing short ADAMS-related educational tutorials for ADOs. Currently, ADOs can find the following tutorials in the ADAMS Help Center:
- ‘Transferring Whereabouts Custody with one-click’ to obtain whereabouts custody of an athlete who is not listed in another ADO’s pool;
- ‘How to add an Unsuccessful Attempt?’ in ADAMS when an attempt to test an athlete in a Registered Testing Pool is unsuccessful;
- ‘How to generate an athlete’s whereabouts submission report in ADAMS?’ to validate that an athlete has filed their whereabouts;
- ‘How to deal with the Two Factor Authentication if I changed my phone?’;
- ‘How to generate a whereabouts details report in ADAMS?’ to review the submitted athlete whereabouts information by ADOs;
- ‘How to avoid test duplication?’ between ADOs with testing jurisdiction over the same athlete; and
- ‘How to avoid duplication of athlete profiles in ADAMS?’ which can occur when an ADAMS user provides incorrect athlete data or ignores the system warning indicating a particular athlete profile already exists.
ADOs are encouraged to forward any suggestions on relevant topics of interest to atwg@wada-ama.org.
d) The main proposed changes of the second draft of the 2027 International Standard for Testing as part of 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards Update Process that are related to ADAMS and/or its ecosystems, including a discussion on team sports and the inclusion of their whereabouts in ADAMS.
Finally, a reminder that ADOs requiring assistance with any aspect of using ADAMS and/or its ecosystems are kindly requested to contact the ADAMS team by submitting a request in the ADAMS Help Center. The former ADAMS email address is no longer monitored by the ADAMS team.
Should you have any questions regarding the work of the ATWG, we invite you to contact atwg@wada-ama.org.
