ADAMS Testing Working Group discusses ADAMS Development Roadmap
The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS) Testing Working Group (ATWG) met in person on 11 and 12 November 2025 and focused its discussions on the following topics:
- An update on the progress of the 2025 ADAMS Development Roadmap and the priorities for 2026, including the plan to launch Athlete Center (the new Athlete whereabouts application that will replace Athlete Central), the progress made on the revised TUE ADAMS module, the update of ADAMS’ security module, and the development of the Results Management Center;
- WADA’s Application Programming Interface (API), which enables Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) that use paperless Doping Control Form (DCF) systems other than WADA’s DCO Central platform to connect their own entry systems to ADAMS to speed up the process of entering DCFs. The pricing structure is a cost recovery mechanism and is ready for implementation;
- The matching criteria for DCFs and Laboratory Results. The ATWG recommended strengthening these criteria by including the sample collection date as an additional criterion to reduce sample code conflicts;
- The major changes to the final draft of the 2027 IST that were approved on 5 December 2025 at the World Conference for Doping in Sport as part of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code (Code) and International Standards Update Process. The ATWG discussed these changes and the impact on ADAMS and its ecosystems; and
- New ADAMS reporting requirements of the 2027 IST, and the development of pre-populated lists where ADAMS users can select from a menu of options for certain situations e.g., the reasons for entry and removal from the Registered Testing Pool/Testing Pool, the reason for not following an Athlete Passport Management Unit recommendation, the type of initial contact during an athlete notification, etc.
Following the meeting, several ATWG members had an additional meeting with some team sports International Federations and National Anti-Doping Organizations to discuss the 2027 IST whereabouts requirements for team sports and the impact on ADAMS.
ADAMS-related educational videos
ADOs are also reminded that several short ADAMS-related educational videos have been created by the ATWG and are listed below:
- ‘How to generate an athlete’s whereabouts submission report in ADAMS?’ to validate that an athlete has filed their whereabouts;
- ‘How to deal with the Two Factor Authentication if I changed my phone?’;
- ‘How to generate a whereabouts details report in ADAMS?’ to review the submitted athlete whereabouts information by ADOs;
- ‘How to avoid duplication of athlete profiles in ADAMS?;
- ‘How to avoid test duplication?’ between ADOs with testing jurisdiction over the same athlete.
- ‘Transferring Whereabouts Custody with one-click’ to obtain whereabouts custody of an athlete who is not listed in another ADO’s pool; and
- ‘How to add an Unsuccessful Attempt?’ in ADAMS when an attempt to test an athlete in a Registered Testing Pool is unsuccessful.
These videos are also available in the ADAMS Help Center. ADOs are encouraged to send suggestions for topics to be covered in future educational resources to testing@wada-ama.org.
Finally, a reminder that ADOs requiring assistance with any aspect of using ADAMS and/or its ecosystems are kindly requested to contact the ADAMS team by submitting a request in the ADAMS Help Center.
