WADA has published its Independent Observer (IO) Report on the anti-doping program at the 2nd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Games held in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (12-26 October 2015).
The IO program in Dammam adopted a cooperative approach which saw WADA partner with the Local Organizing Committee of the 2nd GCC Games (LOC) to optimize anti-doping efforts.
The IO team worked with the LOC and its Medical and Anti-Doping Committee (MADC) to review and improve the doping control program at the Games. This collaborative approach included communication in advance of the Games between WADA, the MADC and the Saudi Arabian Anti-Doping Committee (SAADC), who were asked by the LOC to manage the doping control program for the Games.
