WADA has written to all it stakeholders to remind them that the deadline for the first consultation phase of the Code Review Process is March 15, 2012.
The Code Review Process, which commenced on 28 November, 2011, is the highly-consultative process whereby WADA coordinates any amendments needed to the World Anti-Doping Code.
The process will continue over the next two years with three rounds of consultation culminating in a new draft of the Code, which will be presented to WADA’s Foundation Board at the World Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa in November 2013.
By sharing their practical experiences with the Code via the online consultation platform WADAConnect, stakeholders can provide constructive feedback which will enable WADA to enhance the Code and help in the fight against doping in sport.
WADA suggested that stakeholders look carefully at areas which will benefit from change, additions or omissions, and reflect on the benefits to the global community of athletes arising from any suggested alteration.
WADA also urged stakeholders to create a user account with the consultation platform using the user-friendly guide, which can be found by clicking here. Comments can be provided directly and by referencing the relevant Code Articles that are of particular interest.
