The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) ‘Say NO! To Doping’ video clip enjoyed high-profile exposure at the weekend when it was broadcast to fans at the NHL’s All Star Game in Ottawa, Canada.
Spectators at the NHL’s mid-season spectacular were some of the first to see the anti-doping clip released by WADA as the latest element of an awareness campaign fast gaining worldwide support.
“We have been working with the NHL for several years to assist with the further development of their program and this partnership is another sign of our common goal to protect the integrity of sport,” said David Howman, WADA Director General.
‘Say NO! To Doping’ highlights the dangers of doping and is designed for international and national sports organizations to unite behind in support of clean sport.
“We were delighted to partner with WADA and showcase the ‘Say NO! To Doping’ clip during breaks in our All Star Game - it represents the highest values of sport,” said NHL Deputy Commissionaire Bill Daly.
“The NHL is proud to have assisted WADA with its campaign. We are confident it will help generate some excellent exposure for clean sport and clean athletes worldwide.”
The 30-second clip emphasizes the true values of sport and delivers a very clear message that genuine sporting success and enjoyment comes only through hard work and fair play, not through doping.
To-date, 16 organizations worldwide have embraced the ‘Say NO! To Doping’ campaign, including UK Anti-Doping and organizers of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
