WADA has completed the International Standard for Laboratories (ISL) review process and the new version 7.0 is now available on WADA’s Web site.
The current ISL remains in effect until Dec. 31, 2011 and version 7.0 will be effective as of Jan. 1, 2012.
As part of WADA’s ongoing efforts to enhance world-wide activities under the World Anti-Doping Code, each of the International Standards undergoes periodic revision for fine-tuning based on consultation with WADA stakeholders.
The ISL revision process started in Dec. 2009 and was completed in June 2011, before being approved by the WADA Executive Committee at its meeting in Montreal on Nov. 19.
The purpose of the ISL is to ensure production of valid test results and evidentiary data and to achieve uniform and harmonized results and reporting from all WADA-accredited laboratories.
