WADA and Kontinental Hockey League Sign Memorandum of Understanding

WADA and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), the Russian ice hockey league, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 25 in Vancouver. Through this MoU, the KHL has committed to developing anti-doping rules and protocols in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code), which WADA will monitor like it does for every signatory of the Code.

"WADA is heartened by the willingness of the KHL to implement a rigorous anti-doping program in line with the rules of the Code,” said WADA President John Fahey. “This sets an example for other major professional leagues that have not yet implemented Code-compliant anti-doping programs to follow.”
