WADA’s Tool Kits, designed to provide stakeholders with material to assist with their anti-doping education activities, have undergone a makeover, with new material being developed.
In addition to revised and enriched Tool Kits for teachers, program officers and coaches, and a new Tool Kit for training doping control officers, WADA is now working on education material for sport physicians.
The original set of Tool Kits, launched in 2006, targeted primary school teachers (Teacher’s Tool Kit), sport or anti-doping personnel who would be called upon to deliver anti-doping education (Program Officer’s Tool Kit), and those responsible for providing coach education (Coach’s Tool Kit).
Following feedback received from stakeholders, coupled with the revisions to the World Anti-Doping Code that have made education mandatory for all signatories, WADA conducted a review of the existing material and developed two additional Tool Kits: the Doping Control Officer Training Tool Kit, which is now available to stakeholders, and the Sport Physician’s Tool Kit, which WADA is developing in collaboration with various anti-doping and medical experts. The Sport Physician’s Tool Kit will be available late 2009.
