Montreal, 11 November, 2004 – The Executive Committee and Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will meet respectively Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21, 2004 in Montreal.
At this meeting, the Foundation Board will elect a president and a vice president of WADA.
Other subjects to be addressed by the Board and Executive Committee include accreditation of the laboratory in Warsaw, Poland (bringing to 33 the number of accredited labs); adoption of WADA’s 2005 budget; the Independent Observer reports from the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Athens; the possibility of opening a WADA regional office in Latin America; updates on the International Convention against Doping in Sport being drafted under the auspices of UNESCO; and progress being made on the creation of the Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS). Board and Executive Committee members will also be updated on all WADA activities including in the areas of education, research and testing.
Prior to these meetings, an event for the media has been organized.

At 10 a.m., Montreal time, WADA’s President Richard W. Pound will discuss the topics to be addressed at the Board and Executive Committee meetings and will respond to journalists’ questions during a teleconference.
