Teleconference with WADA's President, Richard W. Pound, before the Agency's Executive Committee meeting.Montreal, September 16, 2003 - The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has announced that its Executive Committee will meet on Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23, 2003 in Montreal.
The Committee will spend the first day of its two-day meeting in an in-depth discussion on WADA's role and overall mission, and the tasks it should undertake in the coming years in light of responsibilities mandated by the new World Anti-Doping Code and continuing financial constraints.
Other topics that will be discussed include progress made on the adoption and implementation of the Code and WADA's financial situation. The Committee will entertain recommendations on possible measures against stakeholders that have not fulfilled their financial obligations to the Agency. The 2004 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods and the International Standards on Therapeutic Use Exemptions will be presented following expert review and approved.
