The Executive Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will meet on Saturday, June 7, in Montreal for the first time since the acceptance of the World Anti-Doping Code.
From 09:00 to 17:00, the Committee will discuss a number of issues, notably the number of government contributions still to be paid to WADA this year and the budget implications of delayed payments. The implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code, which was accepted by delegates to the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Copenhagen in March, will also be discussed.
A recent scientific report on the best method of detection of the substance EPO will also be presented. In addition, the Committee must adopt the International Standards for Laboratories and testing, which will be implemented January 1, 2004, and discuss the List of Prohibited Substances for 2004 and the Standards for Therapeutic Use Exemptions.
The meeting is not open to the press. A press conference will take place immediately after the meeting.
