A welcome word from WADA President
On behalf of WADA, I am delighted to invite you to the sixth World Conference on Doping in Sport, which will take place from 1-5 December 2025 in Busan, Republic of Korea, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center.
Organized with the generous support of the Korea Anti-Doping Agency and the City of Busan, the World Conference will convene athletes and more than 1,500 representatives from the Sport Movement, Governments, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, laboratories, service providers, researchers, and the media–all that are integral to the collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport.
This edition of the World Conference will engage the anti-doping community in high-level discussion and debate about the World Anti-Doping Program, with a particular focus on approving the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards. The 2027 Code and Standards update process was first launched in September 2023 and has allowed stakeholders to contribute to the improvement of the global anti-doping system. The update process will culminate with presentation and endorsement of the proposed versions during this Conference; and final approval of the Standards and the Code at a joint meeting of WADA’s Executive Committee and Foundation Board on 5 December.
The Conference will also be an opportunity for the community to take stock of progress that has been made towards the Katowice Declaration, which was approved by stakeholders during WADA’s 2019 World Conference in Poland. The Declaration called upon "all stakeholders in the fight against doping in sport…to reinforce their efforts to strengthen their cooperation in every possible way; to present a unified front to strive to eradicate doping in sport; to increase resources dedicated to protecting clean sport; and, to bring all perpetrators to account, without limitation."
WADA is working very closely with its hosts to welcome delegates to Busan and ensure the success of the World Conference and all its associated activities.
Sincerely,
Witold Bańka
WADA President
