FINAL REMINDER: WADA invites stakeholders to nominate candidates for Public Authority representative seat on 2021 Compliance Review Committee

Deadline is 26 October 2020

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) reminds stakeholders of its 26 October 2020 deadline to receive nominations for candidates to fill a vacancy for the Public Authority Representative of the Agency’s 2021 Compliance Review Committee (CRC).

On 3 July 2020, WADA reminded stakeholders to nominate candidates for the Agency’s 2021 Standing Committee member vacancies; and, advised stakeholders of this new vacancy for the Public Authority Representative of the CRC that was a result of the current member filling this seat changing their employment.

While the deadline for all other Standing Committee vacancies was 25 September 2020, the deadline for this particular CRC vacancy was extended in order to align the timeline with the CRC Terms of Reference to announce a vacancy six months before the decision is taken on the appointment. Unlike the other vacancies, this one will not be decided upon by WADA’s Executive Committee when they meet virtually on 11 November; rather, it will be decided no earlier than 3 January 2021, six months after the first announcement of 3 July 2020.

The term for this CRC vacancy is two years only, i.e. 2021-2022, to fulfil the remaining years of the current term of the departing member.

To be considered, all nominations must include the following and be forwarded by Monday 26 October 2020 to Mr. Olivier Niggli, WADA Director General (c/o marjorie.chinnarassen@wada-ama.org) and include the following documents:

  • an updated curriculum vitae, which fully outlines the candidate’s experience and expertise; and
  • a letter of endorsement from one of WADA’s current Board members or a recognized WADA stakeholder group. [given the particular vacancy, we expect that the endorsing body would be a Public Authority]

Any questions should also be directed to Mr. Niggli, c/o Ms. Chinnarassen.

It should be noted that WADA’s Nominations Committee will review and vet candidates for this position.
