Catherine MacLean joined WADA in December 2014 as the Agency’s Communications Director.
Catherine has 25 years’ experience in the mining and metals industry, first with Alcan, a global leader in aluminum and packaging, and then with Rio Tinto, an international mining and metals company. She has a proven track record in developing effective external and internal communications strategies with a particular focus on engaging stakeholders around multifaceted social, environmental and community-related issues. Just prior to joining WADA, Catherine operated her own communications consultancy serving a variety of clients including London Mining, an iron ore mining company with operations in Sierra Leone.
Catherine has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Concordia University and a certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from McGill University, both in Montreal. A competitive swimmer in her youth, Catherine is happy to reconnect with her athletic roots at an organization that’s committed to fair play in sports.
